Yoga Drills for Happy Wrists

Did you know that by repeating the same poses in your yoga practice over and over again such as Downward Facing Dog, Plank Pose, and Chaturanga (to name a few) can put a lot of strain on your wrists? Not to mention the daily activities such as spending hours behind a computer or constantly scrolling the mobile phone. Sometimes it’s the repetitive movement of the wrists that can create soreness and weakness, and other times it’s the stationary practices of keeping the wrists in one spot for long periods of time that can do it.
The fact that you can have so much range of motion in the wrists is pretty amazing so it’s important to send some love their way – let them know how appreciated they are by practicing some yoga drills which can help to warm up, increase mobility, and strengthen the muscles needed to maintain healthy wrists (goodbye carpal tunnel!).
These 5 simple exercises can become your pre-class regime so practice them regularly to keep those wrists happy and healthy. You can also do them throughout the day to maintain optimum wrist health.
Enjoy these drills!
Namaste,
Erin xx
